| De-Hairing/Fiber Separating

Removal of guard hair.
Some of the finest fibered animals in the world have two
types of fibers; the guard hair, which repels nature's
elements and protects their soft down fiber. The soft
down fiber keeps the animal warm.
It is this soft down fiber that is desired for creating
incredibly soft yarns and warm garments.
The process of removing the guard hair from the down is
called De-Hairing. This tedious process is performed
part by machine and part by hands and eyes on.
This process is included in the pricing for all haired
fibers. |
