Our new Mill is located in the mountains of North Eastern Pennsylvania and
was processing fiber under the Expert hands of Kathy Haneke, from Meridian,
Idaho who, 19 years ago, plunged head first into the fiber
industry and basically started from the ground up to be one of the leading experts in
her field. Kathy is a certified wool classer, a certified sheep shearer
and has received certification in sheep and wool judging. After her fist
trip to South America she imported a mob of Alpacas to use their
fiber to blend with and enhance the wool of her Aristocratic Merino Sheep.
Over the years Kathy has expanded her business to custom blending of a wide variety of fiber from the very soft Alpaca, Angora, Cashmere, Mohair even
the very expensive and exotic Qiveut & Bison.
Along with the purchase of
the mill, Kathy has agreed to share her wealth of
knowledge and expertise with us as well as her very warm friendship, both of
which we hope will be in our lives for a very long time. Although
our mill is new, we are fully capable of processing all
types of fiber under the training and mentoring of Kathy and
her very prestigious background and years of experience.
Visit the fiber mill and see how we will expertly
process your skirted fiber into batts, rovings, yarns or felted product from your animal - not a
co-op, we can produce product specifically from your animal - Every effort
is made to turn your valuable fleece into the finished product that you
envisioned at a reasonable price that you can stock in your store or make
that special knitted or crocheted item yourself. As Alpaca owners and
breeders we understand the importance your animals fiber holds and promise to
treat your order as if it were our own. Turn those stored up clips into
product you can turn into cash.
